This is a minor matter. After Contact Section V. I recommend Backgammon Boot Camp instead because it contains some match theory and has a lot more about doubling theory.

I do not recommend this book to abckgammon. Colin rated it really liked it Jan 25, Magriel lives in New York City. This book both taught me strategies which permitted me to expand my game to respond to both the luck of the dice and my opponent’s strategy.
Up there at the top of the page, no – over on the right. I always recommend reading Magriel to anyone trying to improve.

The book is also valuable as a beautifully organized collection of simple problems.
Priming and Blocking Dec 11, Nick Blasier added it. As Magriel himself says, errors in handling the doubling cube cannot be compensated even with perfect checker play. After an introductory section in which he gives examples of the four most common types of game running game, holding game, attacking game and priming game and some basic doubling cube strategy and maths, Magriel goes on to tackle most of the fundamental points of chequer play. Other books simply repeat – sometimes with other words – what Magriel has said.
